NBA 1st round pick Andrew Wiggins is basking in the glory and reaping the benefits of being the number 1 pick in the draft. Before he inks his new contract with the Cavaliers, the Toronto native signed a shoe endorsement deal with Adidas. It was made official Wednesday. Sources with knowledge of the signing say the contract is a multiyear deal that comes with a guarantee of at least $2 million annually. On his signing with Adidas this is what Wiggins had to say:
“Joining the Adidas family is a blessing and an honour and I am extremely excited for what lies ahead,” Wiggins, from Vaughan, Ont., said in a statement. “Our collaboration couldn’t be more organic both personally and professionally and I look forward to moving to the next level with the brand.” Seeing that Andrew Wiggins wore Adidas at Kansas this past season, this partnership is actually a perfect look for the Canadian and an organic cohesion. Andrew Wiggins will also join Dante Exum as the second rookie in this year’s draft to sign with the shoe brand.
