Tell us about your name. One Take is very unique name. How did you come up with it?
I came up with the name One Take while engineering myself. I would have to press record and not be able to punch myself in. So I trained myself to record my verses in one take. The name was fitting.

We are just being introduced to you. What do you want people to know about you as an artist?
I want the people to know that I’m not a one dimensional artist. I don’t want to be known as a rapper, or a singer but as an artist who is dedicated to his craft. As a business man with the mind of an entrepreneur.

As a rapper you are definitely different. You have a certain way of expressing yourself that is classically NY. What do you hope to achieve each time you record?
I hope to wow the listeners every time I step into the booth. I don’t want my listeners to ever lose the anticipation of what’s next from One Take.

Listen to “Verrazano” here:

With New York hip hop finally making a resurgence, What do you feel you bring the industry as a artist?
I bring diversity and intelligence to an industry that is saturated with similar sounds.

What do you feel most artists are lacking in today’s society?
I feel like artists are in lack of originality, creativity, and sense.

What are your views on the current state of hip hop?
I feel like all the artist i listened to growing up that i was inspired by are on their way out. I feel like theres no better time than now to preserve the sound that I’ve grown to love, while raising the bar for hip-hop’s future.

What is the title of your forthcoming project? What inspired it?
Coming For Everything.
I’m pretty sure the title says it all. Im not here to be a one hit wonder.

Tell us about the sound of the album. What can we expect feature wise?
The project Coming For Everything is multidimensional. The sound can’t be categorized. There are no features on the project other than Tone-EZ. We try to keep everything in-house because we don’t feel like we need an artist who is already established to make people want to listen to our music.

You are working with Jonny Benjamin. What is that relationship like and has it bettered you as a artist?
Jonny Benjamin along with anyone else in Training Camp are considered brothers as part of this Fraternity.

What do you want the world to know about One Take as an artist?
Im an artist from Queens, New York. Rapper, Singer, Songwriter, Producer, and Label owner. If you listen to two of my records you’d be able to understand who I am. I ain’t stopping. This shit ain’t never gonna stop.
